CDC Drops COVID-19 Vaccine Requirement for Immigrant Visa Applicants

As of January 2025, the CDC has removed the COVID-19 vaccination requirement for immigrant visa applicants. This change reflects the ongoing shift in public health policy and impacts medical screening procedures during the immigrant visa process. Additionally, the Department of State (DOS) has updated its online resources: around 17/01/2025, the Visa Appointment Wait Times Tool was replaced with a new Visa Appointment Times page. Applicants and attorneys should refer to the updated page for current appointment information, as this change may affect how backlogs and service availability are tracked.
