Update on DHS Alien Registration Requirement

On 02/25/2025, USCIS announced a new registration rule for certain noncitizens, tied to President Trump’s recent executive order. While the interim final rule is still pending, Form G-325R became available in MyUSCIS accounts on 02/26/2025. The rule requires most noncitizens aged 14 and older who were not previously fingerprinted or registered to complete the process if they stay in the U.S. for over 30 days. Parents must register children under 14, and those turning 14 must re-register. Some groups, such as DACA and TPS applicants, are not considered registered. Noncompliance may lead to fines, criminal penalties, or immigration consequences. AILA will provide further updates once the regulation is published.
